Host Armor Trim
Host is the fourth of the trail ruins trims. It is brushed out of rare suspicious gravel and is often the last one players find to complete the set.

Host is framed around arches and columns, which give the chestplate a formal, architectural look. It suits ceremonial builds and pairs well with quartz or gold for a marble-and-gilt look.
Where to find the Host template
Trail ruins are hidden in taiga, snowy taiga, old growth taiga, old growth birch forest and jungle biomes. The surface usually shows only a scattering of terracotta or mud bricks.
Dig the ruin out and brush each suspicious gravel block. Host has an 8.3% chance in the rare loot table, the same as its three siblings.
Field tips
- Mining a suspicious block instead of brushing it destroys the loot, so switch tools before you reach one.
- If you have found Wayfinder, Raiser or Shaper but not Host, keep digging the same ruin. They share one loot table.
- Mark finished ruins on a map so you do not dig the same one twice.
Chance to find Host
Each of the rare suspicious gravel you check has a 8.3% chance to contain the template. Enter how many you plan to check to see your odds of finding at least one.
Odds shown are for Java Edition. Bedrock Edition loot tables can differ slightly.
How to duplicate Host
Templates are used up at the smithing table, so copy yours before you apply it. The recipe costs seven diamonds and one terracotta, and gives you two templates.
Applying the trim
At a smithing table, put the template in the first slot, the armor piece in the second and your trim material in the third. Repeat for each piece. Each piece takes one template, so a full set needs four.
