Silence Armor Trim
Silence is the rarest armor trim in the game. Only ancient city chests have it, at a 1.2% chance each, so finding one is a real accomplishment.

Silence frames each piece with a hard border and threads it with thin vertical lines, like the ribs of an echo chamber. It is restrained, so it looks expensive rather than flashy. Gold on netherite is the classic flex; quartz on netherite is the subtle one.
Where to find the Silence template
Ancient cities lie in the deep dark around Y -51, usually under mountain ranges. Find sculk-lined caves and follow them down to the deepslate city.
At 1.2% per chest you will likely need several cities to find one. Even a fully looted city with dozens of chests is no guarantee. Make each visit efficient, and bring an ender chest to bank your loot in case things go wrong.
Field tips
- Crouch at all times. Sneaking is silent to sculk sensors, and running is what wakes the warden.
- Snowballs and arrows that land nearby make noise. You can throw one to lure the warden away from a chest.
- Once you have a Silence template, duplicate it immediately. Losing your only copy hurts.
Chance to find Silence
Each of the ancient city chests you check has a 1.2% chance to contain the template. Enter how many you plan to check to see your odds of finding at least one.

How to duplicate Silence
Templates are used up at the smithing table, so copy yours before you apply it. The recipe costs seven diamonds and one cobbled deepslate, and gives you two templates.
Applying the trim
At a smithing table, put the template in the first slot, the armor piece in the second and your trim material in the third. Repeat for each piece. Each piece takes one template, so a full set needs four.
