How to Upgrade to Netherite
Netherite armor isn’t crafted. Upgrade each diamond piece at a smithing table with a netherite upgrade smithing template and one netherite ingot. Enchantments and trims are kept.
Where to get it
- Mine ancient debris in the Nether (most common around Y 15) and smelt it into netherite scrap. Four scrap plus four gold ingots make one netherite ingot.
- Find a netherite upgrade smithing template in bastion remnant chests; the treasure room always has one.
- Each piece needs one template, one diamond piece and one netherite ingot.

Tips for netherite armor
- Duplicate the upgrade template before using it: seven diamonds, one netherrack and the template give two.
- Netherite items float in lava, so a lava death won’t destroy them.
- Its dark finish makes gold, quartz and amethyst trims pop.

Netherite Ingot, combined with the damaged piece in an anvil. You can also merge two damaged pieces in a crafting grid.

At a smithing table, combine a netherite upgrade smithing template, a diamond armor piece and a netherite ingot. Repeat for each piece.
How much does a full netherite set cost?
